What is Red Storm Basketball?

Red Storm Basketball is a competitive, Christ‑centered feeder program for boys and girls in grades 4–8, designed to develop future Timothy Christian Schools student‑athletes. As a non‑profit, community‑driven initiative overseen by a volunteer Board, we focus on fundamentals, teamwork, and character—on and off the court.

Who can participate?

Any current or prospective Timothy Christian student in grades 4–8 is eligible. We welcome beginners and experienced players alike, ensuring each athlete finds the right level of challenge and support.

How are teams selected?

Teams are formed through two evaluation sessions in August, where coaches, trainers, and Board Members assess skills such as ball handling, shooting, defense, decision‑making, and hustle. Our goal is to create balanced rosters of 8–12 players per squad, with multiple teams per grade if interest and talent allow.

What is the season schedule?

The Red Storm season runs from late October through early March. Teams practice once or twice weekly and compete in 20–25 league games, plus select weekend tournaments. Postseason play in February and March is based on team performance and gym availability.

Do you offer professional skills training?

Absolutely. Every practice integrates drills and coaching from our partners—Detailed Basketball (girls) and Three Level Basketball (boys)—to refine individual and team skills in line with Timothy Christian Schools’ basketball philosophy.

Which league do you play in, and how many games?

We compete in the DuPage Youth Travel Basketball League (DYTBL), facing future TC varsity competition across Gold, Silver, and Bronze divisions. Teams typically play 20–25 league games and may enter additional local shootouts or tournaments.

What does it cost to play?

Final fees for the 2025–26 season will be released in early summer. Registration covers team fees, league and tournament entry, professional training sessions, tryouts, evaluations, uniforms, shooting shirts, and practice jerseys.

How are coaches selected?

Our coaches are selected by the Red Storm Board from a pool of dedicated volunteers. All head and assistant coaches complete background checks and embrace our mission and values. Interested in coaching? Contact the Board to learn more.

What commitment is required?

Players and families should plan for two 1.5‑hour practices per week and weekend games throughout the season. Consistent attendance is essential for individual growth and team success.

Where can I purchase Red Storm gear?

Official Red Storm apparel and spirit wear will be available via on‑demand team stores and seasonal pop‑up shops. Details and links will be shared with registered families as the season approaches.
